After having financed her diploma by busking and winning prestigious prizes for music in Duesseldorf, she moved from Rheinland to Berlin in order to record her first album, which appeared on the Universal Records in 2005.
Now, after many various experiments, it seems she has come into her own. Alone on stage, with only an acoustic guitar and her songs, in English, Spanish and French, the half-Spanish singer pulls out all the stops to involve and entertain the spectators.
Barbara Cuesta is a musician through and through- whether it be gigging, Training, great success or simply in her own head. Her self-sufficiency, openness and undeniable talent, as well as her "yes-to-life" attitude, make her who she is.

Schon seit langem verzaubert Barbara Cuesta die Singer/Songwriterszene in ganz Deutschland. Nachdem sie ihr Abitur erfolgreich mit Strassenmusik finanzierte, in Düsseldorf zahlreiche Musikpreise gewann, zog sie 2003 (noch deutsch singend) vom Rheinland nach Berlin, um ihr erstes Album aufzunehmen, das 2005 bei Universal erschien.
Nun scheint sie nach vielen Experimenten angekommen zu sein. Nur sie, ihre Akkustikgitarre und die Songs, englisch, französisch und spanisch betextet. Die Lieder der Halbspanierin sind Momentaufnahme, die impulsiv entstehen – zum Teil auch auf der Bühne mit dem Publikum.
Barbara Cuesta ist Musikerin durch und durch – mit Tingeln, Ausbildung, großen Erfolgen und eigenem Kopf. Ihre Selbstständigkeit, Offenheit, ihr herausragendes Talent, sowie ihr eindeutiges Ja zum Leben machen sie aus.

Desde hace ya tiempo, maravilla la cantante y compositora Barbara Cuesta en toda Alemania. Luego de financiar sus estudios haciendo musica callejera en Duseldorf (donde gana varios premios musicales), se lanza Barbara, hija de madre alemana y padre espaniol, en el 2003 a la conquista del centro musical alemán: Berlin, donde en el anio 2005 aparece su primer album, presentado por la firma Universal Music. Luego de una larga etapa experimental, se presenta Barbara hoy con su guitarra acustica y sus canciones en ingles, espaniol, y frances como una Tracy Chapman europea. Momentos pasionales que ella comparte desde el eccenario con su publico. Barbara es por sobre todo "musica", con grandes exitos y una clara identidad. Su independencia, su frescura, y su poder es un claro y constante "SI" a la vida.
