BlakFAs’ (pronounced Black-Face) Blak-Rock in a Blak-World EP, signals the beginning of a concept that an African American can find his place at Alternative radio. Like those that have come before him, BlakFAs’ music is a hybrid of everything about alternative music that appeals to the masses, and completed with a tiny bit of soul. He playfully refers to his sound as “Alternasoul”. “My songs have catchy melodies, entangled with stories that people can relate to. As a lifelong Air Force Brat, BlakFAs (aka D. Kennedy) spent most of his younger and teen years growing up outside of the US. This is where BlakFAs chose to return, honing his musical talents playing numerous clubs throughout Europe for the last 5 years. Having written the majority of his debut EP, BlakFAs acknowledges the autobiographical nature that the CD reflects. “I’ve always envied those that were able to put their personal experiences out to the public, when they know they will be constantly judged and asked about it. So in writing this record, I wanted to lay it all on the line even if it is only for cathartic reasons.” “The Game”, talks about getting caught by all of your current girlfriends, who decide to band together to teach him a lesson.
