Inspired by his father, Bob has been writing music feverishly for the past two years. With the help of Pinot Noir Cellar Studios, and members of his band, Bob has finally released his unique brand of Celtic rock into the Ottawa music scene. With summer gigs already booked at Tucson’s, an upcoming special event at The Brookstreet Hotel, and talk of a show at the Ottawa Folk Festival, Bob Haughian is becoming a hot name in local music. “Separate Vacations is a collection of songs that touch on relationships and stories that have been part of my life. Every song tells a story,” says Bob about the album. “I wrote a song on the CD called ‘A Good Man’ in which a son expresses regrets about not conveying his true feelings to his father. It’s amazing how many people have said this song ‘just told the story of me and my Dad’.” Bob Haughian is supported by a musical artillery of highly experienced players. Master-instrumentalist/percussionist,Robert Libbey, produced the release and played numerous instruments supported by his two talented sons, Aaron and Ryan. Musicians included Mische Hudon on drums, Bernie Haughian on acoustic, mandolin & dobro, Len Leclair on double- bass, Doug Grant on Acoustic Guitar and vocals as well as Kara-Lis Coverdale on keyboards, and accordion and Nancy Cathcart on background vocals. Combined, this extraordinary cast of artists has experience in a wide range of music styles including flamenco, rock, country rock, world, jazz, African, Latin, and Brazilian music. With over 250 copies of the CD sold in its first week on-sale, Bob’s charming style of campfire storytelling is resonating with music lovers.
