Singer and songwriter Brannon Powers was born in Arkansas but lived most of his life in Springfield, Missouri with three siblings, Kelly, Erika and Micky, and his mom Ronnie and father Mike. Growing up, he was surrounded by music where family members sang freely and played instruments while listening to the likes of The Beatles, John Denver, Fleetwood Mac and Moody Blues. Using music as a means to express himself, Brannon wrote his first song at age 13 for a girl he was madly in love with. He later self-taught himself how to play the guitar and continued song writing. With hopes to record a few songs he’d written, Brannon made his way to Hawaii to record with producer Eric Helmkamp. Currently, his single “Wasting All This Time,” can be heard on The WB’s web series, “SORORITY FOREVER.” He plans to release an album in early 2009 and hitting the road soon after to tour. Inspired by people and situations, Brannon feels the most success when he’s able to capture a situation or a feeling through song, whether is it personal or from a fictional perspective.
