Up and coming artist, Keith ‘Bravo’ Mellor, was born on August 24, 1988 in Long Island. He grew up in the small town of Mount Sinai in Suffolk County, New York. Before music, he was a football player for Mount Sinai High School. He went on to play at Marist College, but after numerous injuries, he was in search for a new passion. Music is definitely that new passion. Bravo began to write poetry at a very young age, but it was not until he connected poetry and music that his passion fully developed. Him and his friends recorded songs in their spare time using a computer and built in microphone. He became very inspired by making music, and decided that he was going to try to turn this leisurely hobby into a dream. He started off by performing at numerous venues in New York City and seeing success, finishing as one of the three winners at the ‘Secret Open Mic’ both times he went. He also has performed at the Lux Lounge in Brooklyn, and at the Mad Hatter, one of Marist College’s most popular college bars. When asked to name his genre of music, Bravo responded, “If I had to label the genre of music that I make, I would say it’s something like hip pop, a mixture between hip hop and pop. I like switching it up freely depending on what type of music I’m in the mood to make. That’s what great about it, It’s all about individual personal expression… there’s no outlet like it.” Bravo released his first mixtape titled ‘Versatility’ in August 2010. He currently putting together a second mixtape that he hopes to release early in 2011.
