Brooklyn Social is a collaboration between Hugh Wilson and Shaun Morris, two musicians from very different background who have come together harmoniously to produce an inherently diverse record.Hugh Wilson had a semi-nomadic childhood in the Australian desert, eventually settling in Sydney. At the age of 19, Hugh was the winner in the male vocal category of Star Search - a nationally televised viewer-voted talent competition. Shortly after winning he signed to Polydor Records, releasing his debut and critically acclaimed album ‘Illiad’. Hugh later teamed up with the Leigh brothers of Pseudo Echo to form the band, Vertigo, enjoying success in the Australian charts, with what a critic called "the voice of an angel and the stage presence that hails from the dark side". In 2000, Hugh moved to New York to further his career in the US and in 2005-06 joined Lenny Kravitz's band as a vocalist for a US tour with Aerosmith.Shaun Morris is a music producer from Brighton, England. Shaun spent the 90's as a DJ & Producer immersed in the British underground dance scene, following the movement into Jungle and later into Drum & Bass. From 1994 he recorded under the name Stakka, alongside longtime recording partner K. Tee for Liftin' Spirits and Ram Records. In 1997, he formed the critically acclaimed record labels Underfire and Audio Blueprint Recordings with Nathan Vinall, aka Skynet; together they released over forty 12" singles and three LP. In 2002, Shaun moved to New York and collaborated and with recording partner DB, forming 'Ror-Shak' and recording the 2006 album 'Deep'. In 2007, Shaun collaborated with Sage Raider to form 'Ready Fire Aim' whose debut album 'This Changes Nothing' is released in May '08.Hugh Wilson and Shaun Morris proudly present 'Brooklyn Social' over a year in the making and extremely wide and varied in its influences.
