Originally formed in Columbus, OH as Solace; BYBM is Mike Smith, Josh Smith, Mike Wolford, and Sean Trainor. We play hard and heavy music with meaning and heart. We write songs about life and the normal everyday shit we all go through. We try to make every song we write something unique and different from anything else. We have been at it since 2004 playing all over in Columbus, OH. We went to the final round of the Emergenza Music Festival in Columbus in 2005. Our song She Said won the Freakshow Idol competition on an online radio station in Columbus in 2006. We briefly changed our name from Solace to Distraught in 2007 when we moved to OK. We played a few shows and then realized that it wasn't a good fit. So we came up with Before Your Blackest Memories (BYBM) and we have been growing ever since. We put together a benefit show for the Lone Grove tornado victims in 2009 and raised $2300 for the people of lone grove. We have always felt a need to do things for the community and to give back to the people who come out to the shows and listen. Our song Addiction plays frequently on 92.7 KTRX in the Ardmore area. We are dedicated to the music we make and strive to do the best we can. Our live shows are really what we live for. And anyone who has seen us can vouch for us. We don't hold back. We are a head banging, in-your-face, rock and roll band. We'd really appreciate it if you came out to a show and checked us out!
