Eric Carmecí started playing drums at the age of twelve at his local church. At that same age he began to learn how to play the trombone in his local church and later on joined the marching band in his middle school. Music has been part of his life from a young age as he joined different bands as their drummer. Eric Carmecí started playing drums at the age of twelve at his local church. At that same age he began to learn how to play the trombone in his local church and later on joined the marching band in his middle school. Music has been part of his life from a young age as he joined different bands as their drummer. Soon after seeing that the bands he was involved in had no drive to make it big he decided to pick up the piano, keyboard, guitar, bass, kena, soprano, tenor, and also sax. He also picked up many other percussion instruments and began to sequence and arrange his own songs. He always wanted to have his own band, and one day he finally made it happen. He started a band called “Carmecí" in 2003. He began to song write with a guitar player and later on added a bass player and drummer. In a short period of 3 months Carmecí wrote 9 songs and were playing shows through out Houston Texas. Then as they added new members to the band they went into the studio to record a three song EPK that received air play on Houston’s very own 94.5 The Buzz. Carmecí was able to play as a featured artist for The Texas Buzz Show at Scout Bar for 94.5FM The Buzz. They also played for the 89.3FM KSBJ Summer Fest, Lake Wood Church, Strawberry Festival, Westheimer Street Festival and was asked to open up for The Super Tones in Beaumont Texas, and Zona 7 in the city of Houston. Soon after the guitarist of the band left, and Eric struggled to find another guitar player that could pick up where it left off, other band members where recruited but nothing ever seemed to work. Finally in December of 2008 Eric decided to launch his Solo Album adopting the artist name of “Carmecí”. He was able to call on some good old friends that had help out in the past, went into the studio and started to record some of the songs he had been working on. In April of 2009 the album was completely finished, after a 7 year long journey. Anyone who knows Carmecí knows how determined he is on making his dream a reality, a person willing to pay the price, and invest till there is no end. He never gave up on his dream, even when everyone would walk out on him, his drive to succeed would burn even deeper with in his soul. As you listen to the new album you can feel the lyrics piercing through the soul. They deal with inner feelings, inner struggles, failures and shortcomings.
