Predictability has tainted much of what to use to be enjoyable. Movies, entertainment, and music have become conventional and often leave people with a sense of dissatisfaction. This is why, when something fresh, new, and unexpected comes along, people can’t help but to stop and stare. Or in this case, listen. Chris Slone’s music is genuine and unpredictable, reflecting the musician himself. No more generic lyrics, no more boring sounds or predictable guitar riffs. Slone has taken his passion for music and created songs that refuse to be ignored. Chris Slone was born in Wadsworth, Illinois, and more importantly born into a world of music. His father Randy Slone, a blues-country guitarist and singer provided him his first guitar on his 4th birthday, and by age 7, Slone was strumming away, using the talent and stylings of artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ray Charles, and Michael Jackson to fuel his drive. This love of Blues and Soul continued to thrive until at age 15 it launched him into his first band, The Flatlanders, a blues trio that quickly became popular in the Northern Illinois/Chicagoland area. After that project faded Chris found himself next in a blues-soul band, Johnny and The Radio, when he was 17. By age 18, Slone found himself touring the country as lead guitarist and backup vocalist for Pop-Punk band Franco Funicello, expanding his musical horizons, and all the while creating blues music of his own that he kept quiet. At 19 he provided rhythm guitar and vocals for Pop-Rock band The Tryout, stationed in Phoenix, AZ, all while still working on music of his own as the band continued to flourish. While living in Denver, CO with Tryout frontman Mychael Trotter for a short while and also working on finalizing some of his songs, Chris decided to pursue a career of his own and returned to his home of Illinois, and at age 20 finally let the masterpieces he had been creating in secret be heard. After incredible fan support and overwhelmingly positive feedback for his music, Slone has been diligently pushing at his career as a solo musician, and now without a doubt has found what he believes to be where he fits in the world of music. He is currently working on his first solo album “LoveLesson”, expecting it to be available Summer 2010. This is a musician who cannot be ignored, someone with real talent who has much more to offer than you’d expect, and the expectations for Chris Slone have already been set to incredible heights. Listening to his music will not leave you with the usual dissatisfaction, but a sense that you have just experienced something profound, something incredible, something worth listening to. -Jessie Allen -Myspace.com/ChrisSlone -www.ToferSlone.com
