Clare and Wilson Artist Summary Genres: Pop / A.C. - World Vocalist Scott Clare is very well know in Calgary as the lead singer with Doctor Zeuss & the Blue Whos, a band that holds sales and attendance records throughout Calgary's music scene in every club they ever brought their old-school 7 piece R&B act to. His vocal ability has been praised by the likes of Michael McDonald (Doobie Brothers/Steely Dan), Larry Gowan (Styx) and Tom Cochrane. His distinctive voice soars above the music with astonishing clarity and range, combined with a rare soulful feel. Scott is joined by Dale Wilson, who plays all the instruments and writes the lyrics on their co-written songs. Currently, Dale also provides the engineering and recording expertise to the project. Dale has won several songwriting awards through international songwriting competitions and is a road veteran with countless acts, including Robert Burton (Warner) and Adventures in Paradise (Polygram) and has opened for such acts as James Cotton, Colin James, Harlequin, Streetheart, and Jan Arden. Dale also is a graduate of the Jazz and Classical music department of Mount Royal University, and plays upright and electric bass with Doctor Zeuss and the Blue Whos, a top club/corporate act in Calgary (pop. one million) Clare and Wilson have won awards in over 5 major songwriting contests and their song "Secrets and Thieves" was just selected as one of 26 winners from over 17,000 entries to be included in IM Radio's Cd compilation. The music is at what is called the pre-production stage; basically a work in progress. We continually edit/improve/recut and we hope to one day pass at least some of the jobs onto others, like session players/engineers/producers/mastering technicians etc. But for now, we do this project as a 2 man show, recording in our basements and working in our spare time on this.
