Both members had visions of stardom and quickly began to develop a style unmatched by their peers. The Clockwork sound is one that gracefully blends hip-hop with elements of soul, funk, jazz, and the blues. With the use of complex cadences, mulit-layered tracks, flawless melodies, and cleverly written rhymes, the duo vividly narrates stories dealing with love, pain, happiness, politics, and the occasional braggadocio rhyme. Clockwork's innovative sound is accompanied by a live show on par with the industries most seasoned veterans. As member Soulstar stated in a recent interview after performing at the Seagram's Gin Rock the Mic Battle "When we perform, it is our mission to give the crowd every fiber of our musical talent".
