Cody Smith is a songwriter based out of Memphis, TN.  He's been playing and writing music since he picked up a guitar at age 12.  He grew up listening to popular music and always enjoyed singing and playing along to radio hits.  However, the music of the 90's really influenced him and gave him a passion for writing original music.  He formed a band in college and got a taste of what it was like to tour and record tracks.  After college, he continued to write and work as a solo artist where he recorded at Ardent Studios and was a regular guest on Homegrown 94.1 the buzz and Live at 9.  He had the opportunity to play for Justin Timberlake at the Gibson Guitar Lounge along with several other great artists such as 'The Bar Kays' and 'Freesol'.  He worked with local producer Skidd Mills to produce and write several more tracks which provided an opportunity to sale a song called 'Crush' to EMI.  The track was used by a band called 'Fighting Instinct' and released by Gotee Records.  Cody still writes and records, but spends most of his time leading worship at River City Church in Bartlett, TN.
