I began the year of 2007 with great hope and anticipation. I had written the first four songs for this CD: Little Lizzy, Daddy’s Little Baby, Hey, Baby and Five Fifty-Five. Then my world began to crumble down around me. My wife and I lost everything we had worked a whole lifetime to acquire. As if that weren’t enough to endure, we then lost two people whom we love with all of our hearts and souls. Old Mr. Blues was very determined. I had just recovered from three heart failures and an open heart surgery and, because of the added stress, once again, my health began to fail. I lost my voice completely for six months. However, I continued writing. The newer songs were different from the first four. Lonely and Remember Me are songs from the depths of a broken heart. When I needed to vent some anger, I beat on the six strings of my electric guitar and named it Low Down Boogie. Closing Time Blues is a melancholy Blues Jazz instrumental. My Blue Rose is an instrumental ode to my dear wife. In Bus To Nowhere you may hear the faint sound of tires rolling down a lonely highway.
