Less than a year has passed since Daniel Brennan has relocated to Geelong from his hometown of Perth and the move has proved to be just the thing he needed to pursue his musical endeavors further. Finding his feet very quickly in Geelong, he recorded four demo tracks at Pan Studios, and after posting them on www.myspace.com, compliments from people not only in Australia but also from the far corners of the world began to find their way onto Daniel’s website. Daniel followed up by playing a number of supports in Geelong for artists such as Simon Evans, Sleep Decade, Rob Sawyer, Justin Carter, Tom Milekovic, Marty Simpson (Australian Idol), and most recently Daryl Braithwaite. His next big show is at The National Hotel in Geelong on April 3rd supporting Carus on his world tour, but Daniel is playing in and around town before and after this date also. Daniel’s songs have been described as heartfelt and soulful with his own unique catchiness about them. He has just recorded a song entitled “Heroes of Today” at Spinning Half Studios in Geelong that he has dedicated to the 2009 Victorian Bushfire victims and their families. The song is currently being played on internet and community radio stations in Poland, UK, and USA as well as right here at home in Victoria, ACT, Perth, Tasmania and NSW on a number of commercial and regional community radio stations. 94.7 The Pulse, Geelong’s Community Radio Station contacted Daniel to come in and perform the song acoustically, which since then has garnered a lot of positive feedback and requests. Daniel plans to release an EP in the coming months entitled, “The End of Reticence” which will include “Heroes of Today” in the track listing. In the meantime he will be performing live regularly to promote his music. Check out www.myspace.com/soundslikedaniel for updates on gigs, the EP release date and to hear more of his music.
