Born and raised in Houston, Daniel's interest in music started in a car seat with the world music tapes his mother used to play while driving around. From there, he dabbled in the cello off and on through high school. It was while attending the University of Washington that Daniel discovered both the guitar and songwriting. After much thought (and a fruitful trip to the South by Southwest music conference in 2004), Daniel decided that songwriting was his calling. Since then, Daniel has been honing his craft in preparation for his first release the "Santa Elena" EP. Heavily influenced by the sounds of Texas and his youth, Daniel seeks to discover new places to take old sounds while effectively blurring genre lines. With a versatile voice and blue-collar guitar work, he hopes that you will come along with him for the ride!
