Having started out as a jazz trumpeter in the 90’s, it was David Vaughan’s passion for singing that eventually dragged him kicking and screaming into the rather more elemental world of rock. Marco Migliari, senior engineer at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, was instrumental in this and went on to co-produce Vaughan’s first studio-quality demo in 2004. Since then, he has gone on to establish an ever-more distinctive sound and is now backed by his best band yet, a dynamic mix of European talent on guitar, drums and bass. Vaughan fronts the band with energetic drama and his trumpet-playing brings an unexpected edge to what should otherwise be ‘just another rock band’. Though still unsigned, the band are now ready to record a first album so expect a first release towards the end of the year. After appearances at festivals such as Cambridge Rock Festival and Wyeside Music Festival, and London gigs at venues such as The Half Moon in Putney and The Comedy near Leicester Square, the band are now taking bookings for an eventful 2010 – keep a look out!
