Davin McCoy was born in Albany, GA and was raised in separate households. In these separate households is where he found his musical influences. His mother introduced him to the music of Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Al Green, and Van Morrison while his father gave him James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, and Leonard Cohen. After finding his love of music, he soon found his love of singing while watching Babby Mason perform in church.
In high school Davin found himself paying attention to observations that soon disenchanted him to suburban influence and ran away with his guitar to live his life in his car. After getting over what he calls his "narcissistic teenage angst” he enrolled in the University of Hawaii.
Davin returned home to record his indie record “40 Days from Friday” with Clay Cook and began touring regularly and building a following.
Shortly after he struck a deal with a record label (cannot be named). He later left due to creative challenges. After spending a year working
for a publishing house in London, he has now returned home again to finish writing and began recording what he hopes to be his breakout album.
