It has certainly been quite a year for Death of Paris, the electro-pop brainchild of singer Jayna Doyle and guitarist Blake Arambula that rose from the ashes of their previous band, This Machine is Me. Conceived in July 2009 when This Machine is Me dissolved, Doyle and Arambula began writing for a new project, pumping out demos with a more mature and focused feel to them. In late December of that year, they booked time to record in Los Angeles, CA at Killingsworth Recording Company with David Baker at the production helm. 5 Months and 30 songs later, they flew to LA and came home with their 10 song full length debut, which they released October 22nd, 2010. After a packed listening party, and several successful hometown shows, as well as regional radio airplay and statewide press coverage, the band, now with added guitar player Patrick Beardsley, is currently on a Southeast tour of the United States. Taking them through the venues, malls, coffeehouses and radio stations of NC, SC, GA and FL, the self-booked and self-funded three week acoustic tour will be in support of their debut album, beginning with a Columbia, SC house show January 5th featuring acoustic performances by members of locals American Gun, Marshall Brown and Seth Birkes, Jurassic Heat, Dead Canaries and Octopus Jones, then ending January 23rd in Charlotte, NC
