Deed Up Entertainment was founded in 2003 as the brainchild of One-D. The label was started due to the lack of opportunity and guidance given to up and coming artist such as himself and other artists at a younger age. “One of the main problems with the industry, is that no one is willing to show somebody or help somebody get started or even point them in the right direction, just because they are more talented than someone that is already somewhat established.” – One-D. As the core founder and CEO of Deed Up Entertainment, One-D has been through the motions of up and coming artist that was never given an opportunity to succeed. Being tuned away from studios, not given advice on how to make tracks or even a hand in understanding music, all to having a verse and song stolen, One-D has had it happen. Through the motions were painstaking, they planted the seed which bloomed into the desire to want better and more from the music industry, artists, and supporting community.
The term/name “Deed Up” refers to how the music industry should be governed and managed by those with the influence and know-how behind music industry. “There is no mainstream artist that made it to where they are by their selves, somebody helped them and somebody gave them a chance to really do what they needed to do” – Big Snook. “Deed Up” stands for every artist, promoter, producer, etc, who work together to create better music and push the envelope on how conventional music should be produced. Striving to do better and be better than you were yesterday, is a core value of Deed Up Entertainment. Our motto is “Go Hard, or Go Home”! The focus of our production, management, and artists, isnt who has the tightest flow, or is the most lyrical, or who is more gangster, it is about artist coming together to inspire each other to create and perform better than you did or would have a week ago. We believe that our path to success is through determination, work, and dedication. Unlike most artists and record labels, we are not jus about making music, our goals and plans extend into community projects, teen outreach, little league sponsorship, and community service. We are here to be a voice for generations and set the example for all up and coming artists and record labels in Broward County.
