Deekah Wyatt was born in Detroit during the early eighties to a pair of loving parents who could not have been more different. As crazy as things got she always knew she was destined for greater things. Deekah had a song for every occasion! Music was there to comfort her when her parents argued over money. Music was there to keep her company when her mother left her alone for hours, any time of the day or night, to fend for herself. Music was always there. One Christmas Deekah got an acoustic guitar, a CD player and 2 CDs: Red Hot Chili Peppers-One Hot Minute & Jimi Hendrix's greatest hits. Her life was changed forever. Deekah’s high school drama department was instrumental in allowing her to get a taste of life on stage. Friends in the local hardcore music scene only threw gasoline on the fire. Accompanying all the chapters in the story of Deekah Wyatt, a soundtrack played softly and sometimes loud enough to wake the whole hood. So many stories to tell… thanks to her life, her city and the people in it, she wrote constantly. Always tweaking old works and scribbling ideas for new ones on scrap pieces of paper and receipts. Music was oxygen when her lungs could draw none. Music was always her shoulder to cry on; so when she met Kelvin and he told her that his favorite band was RHCP, she knew had met her soul mate. They are approaching 5 happily married years together and live in Detroit with their 2 year old son, Azmyth. Deekah Wyatt is currently playing at venues all over Detroit including the 5E Gallery, The Artist Village & Cliff Bell’s. She can be seen every other Wednesday hosting the Boundless Expression Open Mic Experience at the Sweet Epiphany on in Detroit, MI. .
