What is Dieselcreek? Dieselcreek is rock. But wait, a great deal of musical acts out there are claiming to be “rock n’ roll” bands. Why are they any different? Dieselcreek is rock like the Black Crowes are rock. Like Lynard Skynard is rock. Like Pearl Jam is rock. True Americana roots rock. The stuff that gets you up out of your chair to dance and sing along to catchy memorable lyrics. Ripping electric guitar solos mixed with the acoustic guitar and fiddle that move your soul. Lead vocals that have been compared to Chris Robinson or Michael Stipe. That’s what Dieselcreek is. Dieselcreek’s debut came in 2003 with the release of Not Far From Home. Quickly getting attention from local fans in LA with the songs “Vertical” and “Magnets.” Three years later, after adding McClelland, the “Creek” released their sophomore album, In The Morning. Instantly, the title track caught the ears of fans with the addition of McClelland’s violin and new drummer, Serafim. That song, “In The Morning,” was included in the independent film, “Dickie Smalls, From Shame to Fame” at the Colorado Film Festival. In addition, “In The Morning” anchored HBO’s stage production of the Vagina Monologues as well as earning an honorable mention in Song of The Year song-writing competitions. Based out of Los Angeles, CA, Dieselcreek is a 5-piece band consisting of Jason Goodin (vocals, harmonica, rhythm guitar), Robert Nolan (lead guitar), Jimmy McClelland (fiddle, keyboard), Sue Butensky (bass) and Emerson Serafim (drums). Dieselcreek has built quite a fan base around the LA area playing frequently at venues such as The Mint, The Lighthouse, The Pitcher House, Cafe Boogaloo, Harvelle’s and 14 Below to name a few.
