Big Joe started his DJ’ing career halfway between the birthplace of House (Chicago) and Techn (Detroit) in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Big Joe has been striving for a unique style since his beginning. Big Joe started his DJ’ing career halfway between the birthplace of House (Chicago) and Techn (Detroit) in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Big Joe has been striving for a unique style since his beginning. He started the journey at the age of 18, to which he has made great advances along the way. "I started playing after noticing the lack of DJs in Kalamazoo and saw market potential for a new DJ style". He was then asked to play at the infamous Intersection, Moxie, and Churchills by Shannon Williams, owner and founder of Bangin Promotions. "I became good friends with Shannon and he is continually teaching me how to get to the next level of my career." He played at acts for many DJs such as Bad Boy Bill and Darude. His style of music at the time was a mixture of progressive trance, hip-hop, and House. "I play for my audience and can play almost every style of music." Big Joe’s talent was seen in Kalamazoo and by the end of 2008, he was the resident DJ at Charlie Fosters, Wayside, and Y-Bar. At the same time, he has also DJ’ed events which were sponsored Puma, Patron, Rockstar Energy Drink,Monster Energy Drink, and Redull. "I am still to this day learning, but the best way to learn is on stage watching a DJ."
