Down-N-Dirty came as a dream… back in 1999 after sitting in a live freestyle session on Hiram Clarke’s own 89.1 radio station. “I remember sitting in awe listening to my older cousin Lil’ Dee freestyling back to back with his neighbor Lil’ NARD, with precision on tongue twisting metaphors and similes.” Even though they were doing it for fun in a friend’s studio, from that moment I knew they possessed a talent that they didn’t even notice. So we started our own label and signed the two as our first group!” No one really took us serious when we told our family and friends, only God knew what the future held.In 2003, K.B spent some time in Niagara Falls, New York, where once again destiny took control. Even though Niagara Falls was supposed to be one of the “Great Wonders of the World”, He saw it as just a boring little country town that reminded him of the “Cheers” theme song! He was introduced to one of his second cousins, Mike, whom he never met before and was well known in the town and treated like a star! In a town where everybody knows everybody a new face peeked the interest of everyone. He introduced him to his best friend “Streetz” who was the head of D.N.A, Niagara Falls’ premier underground rap group. Everyone respected them! They always stole the show at local block parties and social events from the Falls to Buffalo. Streetz and K.B. began hanging out daily and talking about their different cultures, plans and goals, from there we formed the Down-N-Dirty Mob. With the help of C-Yo tha Criminal, also from Houston, Mike aka M.F.H, we brought 2 different styles, from 2 different coasts we were sure to leave people stunned. We put his crew on to the Houston born sound of DJ Screw, S.U.C, Scarface, Chamillionaire, Lil’ Flip, Swishahouse, and others while they put us on to Nas, Jay-Z, D-Block, G-Unit and others. Even with growing up on different coasts with totally different lifestyles we both agreed on one thing… to make great music!K.B later went to San Diego, Ca where he met D’Tyree aka Yogi who was the head of Demolition Records from Oakland. After spending time talking and planning DND once again expanded but now to the Bay Area. Finally after returning home to Houston K.B collaborated with his uncle, Rufus aka R.J who also had the love for real music, and made him co-CEO of DND Records. It didn’t take long for the Dirtyboyz to get back together… C-Yo tha Criminal, B-Yo tha Menace, Lil’ Dee, Nard, J.B aka “Mr. DFW”, Ramzo, Lil’ C, Dub-B, Norm D. tha Mayor, and Dub J were back in the studio and tearin up the streets with “Da begiNning of Da end” mixtapes! Weeks later K.B hooked up with his god-brother Reggie B. of the Dream Team, a trio from Houston, Atlanta, and Saint Louis. Now we were complete! DND stretched from the East to the West with the South heading the movement. San Diego was also the birthplace of B.F.A.M (Brothers From Another Mother), which is the collaboration of guys from Houston, Boston, Oakland, Niagara Falls, Long Beach, Atlanta, Atlantic City, and Chicago. Now anywhere that DND goes we are connected with family.
