About Donna Hensley

Lees Summit, MO

Local Opry Show Critics comments: This anniversary show wouldn't have been complete either without this next guest: Donna Hensley! Donna's enthusiasm and energy is contagious and the audience were clapping their hands and patting their feet as Donna began her set with Hank Sr.'s "Jambalaya" and Kathy Mattea's "Come From The Heart." Donna also honored our armed forces with "Green Berets" and returned the second half with Mary Chapin Carpenter's "Down At The Twist And Shout," Anne Murray's "Just Another Woman In Love" and Pam Tillis' "Blue Roses." Just outstanding! 11-14-09

What a delight it was to see Donna Hensley perform at the Northtown Opry again! This classy, high-energy lady is habit-forming to say the least. She always leaves us wondering how she can top this-- and yet she always does! Donna began tonight with a Chely Wright (Chely's originally from nearby Wellsville, KS) tune, "Sea Of Cowboy Hats," then it was Patty Loveless' "Mr. Man In The Moon" followed by Highway 101's "I'm A Walkin' Talkin' Crying Barely Beatin Broken Heart." Donna returned the second half with Tanya Tucker's "Strong Enough To Bend," Patsy's "If You've Got Leavin On Your Mind," Mary Chapin Carpenter's "Down At The Twist & Shout" and a favorite of ours, "Unchained Melody." 5-28-10
