Joe and Steve have played together for many years including their other brothers Vim and Jeff making there music tight. DragonHead will remain an all original metal band. The Aguirre family is from the Minneapolis area where the rest of the family still resides. Joe and Steve have 4 other brothers. Vim (Brian), Mark, Jeff Bruce and 2 sisters Cheryl and Sue all artistically gifted. There music is still as powerful as there first band together called Assassin and still lead their fans wondering when and where there next show is and that is what we are all about FANS. DragonHead is a big supporter of other musicians. Joe Aguirre has opened for many national act through out his life. He started playing key boards at 3 years old. Then he discovered the Guitar. It was only a card board guitar that his father made for him and his little brother Vim. Together they decorated there wall ,ceilings and any other structure they could stick a poster or magazine articles too. Joe would dress Vim up to look like Kiss characters and him self too. Jam on the card board guitars to there Kiss album collections. There parents decided they needed the real thing and got them a real guitar. Many days and nights Joe would learn the guitar from the radio or albums his older brothers and sisters collected and before you know it started doing neighbor hood shows and charging admission. At the age of 14, 15 and 16 Joe's 2 brothers Steve and Vim all on guitars and Tony on vocals and there drummer were playing in bars all over Minnesota and taking the state by storm. They were very popular and well on there way when Joe developed an illness that almost cost him his life. On the way home from school Joe had his first major seizure and the next day he was having brain surgery from a very large AVM on the brain. Skull replacement was next after developing a life threatening staff infection at the surgery site. When Joe woke up from his surgery his memory was not there any more. Joe had learned to walk ,talk eat, write and everything else you can imagine. He did not even know who he was. Joe wrote a big portion of his songs while many years in the hospital and now he shares them with the world. Most people after going through this type of surgery in the 80"s usually wake of severally disabled and never totally recover. The opposite happened with Joe. The brain surgery enhanced his ability to play guitar, drums, bass, keyboards, write music and any thing else he can get his hands on. The surgery left Joe blind in one eye and death in one ear. Joe is like Hendrix, he does not read music, its all by ear. He is an amazing and phenomenal musician. He credits the man above for everything in his life. Joe wants to give back to the world what was once almost taken from him and that is life and the will to live. Joe was so sick he thought a few times it would be easier to just let go then to have to endure the pain and the agony that he felt because he thought he was a burden financially, physically and mentally on his entire family. Joe wants to encourage through his music to all sick children and adults that are going through major illnesses as he did to not to give up on themselves. It will be a fight no doubt but the outcome will be so worth it all. Joe often wondered why GOD spared his life and gave him musical talent and now he knows. Joe states if he only saves one child or one adult then his job in life is complete. It takes team work to accomplish these goals. So fans stick with us and help us save lives. Our fans are loyal to us as we are to them, so lets team up kick some butts and saves some lives. DragonHead is on there way to success. The comments we get after ever show is this..you are the next Iron Maiden, you are the next Queensryche, and you are the next Rush.. I have interviewed Joe, Steve and asked them for there opinion about these comments and both answers were, that's great we will take that compliment any time, but we say we are the next... ...DRAGONHEAD........
