Drype is a Portuguese rock band formed in Ermesinde, Oporto, in 2007 by Marcos Levy (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Pedro Eloi (drums) and Aires Meneses (bass guitar, backing vocals). Drype is a Portuguese rock band formed in Ermesinde, Oporto, in 2007 by Marcos Levy (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Pedro Eloi (drums) and Aires Meneses (bass guitar, backing vocals). The three piece band was formed after the disbandment of N''cript, an Oporto grunge project. After that, Marcos and Pedro decided to go a different way and went on to form a new band with the provisory name 'Infectious Greed' that would be later named 'Drype', a fusion of many music genres, including alternative rock, heavy metal, grunge and progressive rock. Drype began as a four piece band when Marcos Levy, former bass guitar on N'cript, changed to lead vocals, guitar and piano. Aires Meneses joined the band to fill the spot left on the bass guitar and Pedro Eloi stood on the drums. The 4th member, who would later leave the band, was Ricardo Gomes on guitar. With a locked up formation, original songs are made and performed live in the Oporto area. Since then the band has developed a solid path performing in distinguished Portuguese venues across the country, winning also a national contest to play in 'Festival Secundário' (Gouveia). In 2010, Marcos, Pedro and Aires, currently 20, 21 and 24 years old, recorded the first EP produced by Marcos Levy. The intitled 'Drype Ep' contained 4 songs of the band setlist and culminated into Drype's original sound, having received huge positive feedback from the social networks and the press.
