Portrait of DS-OFF

About DS-OFF

Saint-Constant, Canada

The Beginning
In May 2005, Dan and Seb, both 17, were in a locker room after a hockey game. They used to "close the room", meaning that they stay in the room and talk until the janitor told them to leave. So, during one of those nights, they came to talk about music and how they would love to know how to play guitar. One week later, they both had a Jay Turser guitar and a Roland Micro Cube amp. They invited some of their friends in the Seb's basement to play with them and learn some basic songs. Later, with the hiatus of Blink 182, they both thought to start a band to fill the empty spaces in them.

The Making Of
In June, they convinced Maxime, Seb's cousin, to buy a bass and make a band. He did ! So, now we are in August and they were three. They missed a drummer but they knew no one that could or wanted to play drums. So, here comes in Fred. He convinced his dad to buy a drum to play along with his brother and the band. Now, they just needed a name. While Seb and Max were playing Tennis, Dan arrives and told them that he found a name for the band, My Two Cents. He was listening to an episode of The Simpsons and took the name from the Kent Brockman show. So, now they were four, had a name and ready to rock the world ! Except for one, Max realize that the band's expectations were too high for him and the band was just something to had fun with his friends. So, here comes in Ollie. He was playing guitar with them when Dan and Seb was playing for fun. He was desperately searching for a spot in the band so he jumps on the opportunity to play with them and bought the Max's bass. So now they were 4 four and ready to rock the world ! But, there's always a but, they found out that the name My Two Cents was taken by an American rapper. Then the finding-the-band's-name game starts over. One day, Seb woke up with DS-OFF in his mind; don't ask him how he found it because he doesn't even know it himself. Seriously, don't ask !
