ECHOTERRA brings the classic symphonic metal sound of Europe to the US with rich sonic structures melding orchestral and operatic themes with the heavy instrumentation of metal music. Heavy-hitter band members from popular metal bands such as Visions of Atlantis, Avian, Into Eternity, Epicurean, Therion and Pyramaze have made up the dynamic group since its inception. For complete information, visit Echoterra on Myspace. HISTORY: ECHOTERRA was formed by Jonah W and Yan Leviathan in 2007. The duo spent most of 2007 and 2008 writing the songs for Echoterra's debut, The Law Of One. In 2008, Suvi Virtanen joined the band as the vocalist. The remainder of the line up was complete when Brian Hollenbeck joined on bass and vocals, and John Gensmer on drums.Their debut, The Law of One was released to much international praise. In late 2009, Melissa Ferlaak, formerly of VISIONS OF ATLANTIS, replaced Suvi on vocals and Adam Sagan (INTO ETERNITY) replaced John on drums. A change was needed in order to allow ECHOTERRA the opportunities to perform live. With the new lineup in place, the band released the EP, IN YOUR EYES in 2010 and are busy writing new material for a full length album to be released in late 2010. The band will be co-headlining the Flight of the Valkyries Festival in Minnesota this summer.
