Time Out New York says Emergency Service's "reggae fused hip-hop recalls Arrested Development," and over the past three years the band has brought that musical fusion to some of the premiere venues in New York and around Northeast, including NYC's Bowery Ballroom and Boston's Middle East Downstairs, developing a strong following and base of fans that love the energy and originality of a music that can't fit into one genre.
The band recently had their song "If You Find" featured on the MTV show College Life in the "Halloween" episode, and was a finalist in MTV's "Best Music On Campus - College Life" competition. They also were chosen as one of Harpoon Brewery's "Best Unfiltered Bands" in 2009.
Emergency Service was the featured performer at the 2009 MS Walk at The South Street Seaport in New York City as well as the 2008 "Say So!" benefit in Union Square, and was one of the performers to take the Daily News stage in the 2007 116th St. Puerto Rican Day Festival in NYC.
The band has opened for a number of nationally and internationally touring acts in the past year, including Groundation, Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, Matt White, and SOJA among others.
Emergency Service is currently working on a new full-length album to be released in the fall of 2009, and continues to play frequently in NYC and around the East Coast, with the goal of bringing their music and their message to as many people as they can...
