Eternal Hour started out under the name Mortal Enticement in the basement of Ty Jones with Alex Foretich and himself jamming Metallica-influenced tunes. After a few months of this, they finally came across guitarist Nathan Smith. The trio instantly clicked personality-wise and musically. After a few months of writing and rocking, the trio decided to bring Ty's friend Nick Best into the band to play bass. The only thing missing was a vocalist. The four of them persisted to search for a vocalist for another six months or so, while featuring guest singers from well-known bands like Eclipsed By Sanity, Halcyon Way and Gnostic. Then, in June of 2008, Nathan was asked to join Eclipsed By Sanity. The band was now missing a member up, but continued on, now looking for a new lead guitarist. They tried out a few, then finally decided on Evan Wheeler. Evan played in the band for a few months, but eventually left under musical differences. In January of 2009, Eclipsed By Sanity broke up, and Nathan decided to re-join Mortal Enticement. The seven month hiatus of Nathan seemed to really bring the band to life, as their sound matured greatly during his time spent in E.B.S. They began writing longer, heavier, and more well composed songs, still searching for the right vocalist. A few had tried out, but nobody that quite fit the band. The band decided to record a three song demo, in hopes of it helping them find a singer. In March/April of 2009, a singer by the name of Kevin Gibson was contacted by the band, and wanted to try out. As soon as the band started playing, he began belting out old-school style metal vocals in the style of Tim Owens and Rob Halford. They knew instantly that he was the man for the job. Their first show with Kevin was May 2nd at The Local in Marietta. They had decided on a name change by this point, because the old name just wasn't cutting it. The new name would be Eternal Hour. Kevin was accepted amazingly by all the fans, and helped the band gain more fans. Since his joining, the band has added vocals to their demo, played multiple other shows, and started gaining popularity and credit in the Atlanta metal scene.
