Take a breath and inhale this...... This rapper/producer with tremendous talent has taken his love and desire for music to another lyrical level. Known in the streets as FHAT ROB, people question his name. It's like no other, the style, the name, the man himself can not duplicate, something spectacular to offer. FHAT ROB--Flows Hit All Targets Rhymes Over Beats--fits him in every way, his flows are crisp and to the point, he's a monster with the beats but's prefers to rhyme, it can't get more precise than that. So let's take it back....... Born in 1981 in Richmond, Virginia Rob would grow up to find himself trying to understand the craziness of the world, "follow my own mind/cause I thought so deep." He faced many trials and tribulations; that he dealt with through his music he says "at first I didn't know I had it in me/this magic brought the real trueness outside of me." And so it began, Fhat Rob put his time blessing the mic. He has carried his talent from state to state, venue to venue. Completions, festivals, performances, or battles Fhat Rob has been there. 1998-Cincinnati OH- Teen N'Talent Show-Fhat Rob would bring home 1St place in the state finals and 2nd place in the international finals with a song that he wrote and dedicated to his mother. Rob would take his love and talent for music and share it with others, as he volunteered at the Down Town Music Lab, a non profit after school program for 6-12th graders. He was a mentor to the children, regarardless the genre of music. 2000-Harlem NY-Apollo Thearter-Fhat Rob and Armed Forces performed a positive song talking about urban society titled "WHY". That year Fhat Rob and "True Infinite" also traveled to Baltimore, MD to the Arena Players Convention Center to compete and brought home 3rd place.---2001-Blacksburg VA-Fhat Rob performed a 2 hour set in front of a packed out Virginia Tech Homecoming. He would also open for the Roanoke Dazzle, the area basketball league at the Roanoke Convention Center. That same year he started performing at the yearly Herny Street Festival, a community event celebrating black heritage. It is apparent that Fhat Rob can write to suit his audience with the many request to return to these festivals and family events. Thing were good until...he relized that people didn't want him to prosper. 2002-Hatred felt, shots fired, wounds healed were the next few lines in Rob's life. He says, "take shit cuz they really ain't never had shit". to escape the madness Fhat Rob relocated to Philadelphia, PA. As soon as he hit the streets it was on and poppin. Grinding for studio time he made Happy Gardens on 69th St. the freestyle spot. He could eat, shit, grind and rhyme. He linked up with his cousins Cease Da Grey Son and Fetish aka Megan Lakisha Hooker (Rest in Peace) to create Big Face Mob and brought it to the forefront, "It's branded, I'm a boss". The Mob has since branched up and down the east coast. BFM is in Miami, the Carolina's, Washington, Virginia and Philly. He started doing shows at The Terminal and Walter's with a live band. His support was growing and local cat's weren't feeling him "sum bitched dropped a dime on me and possesion was all I heard." 2003-They had him on the immigration pod eating chi chi's and swiss rolls. During this time Fhat Rob expaned his lyrical knowledge in a cell until parole. Rob was released and linked up with Traffik and My Block Entertainment. Things were good: Fhat Rob got married and had children. It didn't take long before drama hit home again, so to remove his family from it, they went back to Roanoke, Va. 2004-The hip hop scene in Roanoke was not what it used to be. Clubs are gone, other are open but do not support hip hop. Fhat Rob doesn't let that hold him back. He starte back at the Music Lab, drops a 12 track cd called Me For Real. The title self explanatory; it was about letting people know who he is and that everything he rhymes about is real, he says "I might talk shit but it be the truth and shit". Blacksburg, VA was the place to be at this time. Virginia Tach once again called his name, with the campus right up the road and Fhat Rob on the rise: he was making weekly trips to be featured at Bailey's and Woody's, two hot spots in town. Regaedless where the show waw it still was promotion and people still came out to support him. Around the same time people started hearing chatter about the battles and Fhat Rob was asked to host and perform at the Come Up Parties at the Ramada Inn, Roanoke, VA.- 2007-So far its' been a good year.
