Born and raised in Belfast, Fra Donaghy is a 38 year old musician, writing and recording his own music and releasing it online in the hope that at least a few other people out there in the world wide web enjoy listening to it. Having spent many years making amateur recordings just for fun in his spare room, Fra was invited to London in the summer of 2008 to record at the London Music School under the watchful eye (and ear) of Amy Derber. A few months later, the finished tracks were released along with 8 new home recordings on the CD "A Better Place". The CD went on to raise over £300 for Northern Irish cancer charity Action Cancer, and led to appearances in local media such as the Andersonstown News newspaper and an interview on West Belfast radio station Feile FM. In 2010, Fra went on to release a new collection of songs entitled "Hey!". Taking a deliberate step away from the acoustic, stripped down feel of the previous CD, this album aimed to open up a few new ears to his music and showcase a further side to it for those already familiar with his past material. In August 2018, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the London recording sessions "A Better Place" has been re-released digitally on almost every streaming/download site on the internet.
