It was 2003, in a high school lunch room where G.I. realized that he had the gift to entertain people with his lyrical content. He would recite his rhymes from is notepad for his closest friends—by the time he had finished a rhyme he would look up at see that a couple dozen had gathered around his lunch table to hear the plethora of razor sharp punch lines.
“Before I looked down in my notepad for a new rhyme there were about 4 or 5 people listening. By the time I was done and looked up again there about 13 to 24 people.”

G.I. is an acronym for “Ghetto Intelligence.” This describes this teen pheonom down to a science. After making appearances on various local mix tapes and getting a high volume of plays among the Buffalo club scene—DJ KennyKutz says G.I. makes music you can fly to. This started to become the general consensus of the masses.
“This was the birth of G5-G.I. The G5 Jet is one of the most dynamic, powerful, and fastest aircrafts out. That’s how I describe my style. Everyone is gonna have to catch me if they can. I fly high.”

In addition to his lyrical and entertainment talent, G.I. has the physical appearance necessary for mainstream Hip-Hop and Pop marketability. Although, modeling is not his focus—his style and keen sense of fashion is a bonus to his on-stage audience appeal.
G.I. wants to give Hip-Hop a bit of a facelift with his cross-over Hip-Hop genre—as he often refers to his influential style of music. He has a genuine respect for the phenomena that has allowed him to find and alternative in a city where the streets have captured the lives and souls of his peers. His music tells his listeners that no matter where they’re from or no matter the circumstances there is always a better way.
G5.G.I. truly is the voice of Hip-Hop’s newest wave and will be for years to come.
