Gordon Earl is an emerging songwriter, and fantastic saxophonist known for his big pure tone and lightning speed. He can enchant an audience whether playing solo piano and singing or he can blow the house down with full synth regalia. While his music genre is adult contemporary and pop-rock, its infusion with classical instrumentation, and modal jazz qualities makes his body of work appeal to a wide range of audiences.Gordon Earl studied clarinet with Chicago Symphony Orchestra clarinetist Walter Wollwage; he studied jazz piano with Willie Pickens, and trained with vocalist Sue Govali of the Moody Blues. He moved from Chicago to Northern California to attend Stanford University. He’s played numerous nightclubs in the San Francisco Bay Area, such as The Great American Music Hall, McNeers, and the Last Day Saloon. Gordon Earl launched his first album Big Questions in 2006 and just released his second album The Answers in 2007. Fly To Paris, Corporate Tool, Hear The Kaboom, Who Are You People, The Database, All Wrong, How Could It Be, and Do Me A Favor are among the favorites of his collection. “Magnetic melodies and harmonic progressions,” “gorgeous use of the Lydian and Mixolydian modes,” “deeply satisfying poetic lyricism,” “endlessly nuanced body of work,” and “emotionally riveting,” are just a few of the favorable descriptions of his music.
