G.R.I.M.M. Rippa Born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In the small urban community of Holt. Is where quite a few Hip Hop artist began to blossom but yet failed to pursue the dream of becoming mainstream, due to the lack of opportunity and other endeavors which caused them to fall back and pursue other careers to build upon. But there's one who stands out, and plans to break that cycle... With five independent albums, dating back from 2003, two mix tapes, and a recent mix tape released in March of 2010, titled, "Levitation," adds to the collection of Hip Hop music which has made (G.R.I.M.M. Rippa) a success and a figure of his community. Still determined to stand out from the crowd of other hip hop artist, (G.R.I.M.M. Rippa) pushes himself to the maximum to deliver results that will not only draw more fans to him as an artist in his home town, but across the nation and perhaps the world. His mix tape, "Levitation," released in March of 2010, was highly promoted by himself, associated members of his independent label, family members, friends, and fans. The promotional party for "Levitation," would go on to be the most highly recognizable album releases of any solo artist in Tuscaloosa to date. There's also another mix tape that he is featured in this year titled, "Fall In or Cave In," from another independent label, (Big Boy Entertainment) in which he is affiliated with. His upcoming project, "The Nightmare World Order Compilation," is set for release at the end of August 2010. In 2004. (G.R.I.M.M. Rippa) formed his own style of production, which consisted of tranquil synths, ambient pads, and hard bass drops, with a slow tempo in which he called, (Nightmare Muzik). Though still craved by some of his peers, he rarely uses it due to the high demand of a more uptempo sound in the production of music today. He kept the name and used it to create his own independent label, in which he carries to this day. Though seeing a few of his artist leave for personal reasons and issues, only one artist stayed with him from the beginning along with his cousin. With other artist in his label that grew with him such as G.R.I.M.M.'s cousin, (205'r Tha 2ruth) and (Young Chevy), Nightmare Muzik has become a powerhouse among labels in Tuscaloosa. Highly recognized by the campus radio station at the University Of Alabama (New Rock 90.7) during the Wide World of Hip Hop sessions, hosted by Cory "D Block"Dumas on Thursday nights, created a catapulting fan base for the label as a whole. Though owning his own Independent label, (G.R.I.M.M. Rippa) decided to take another route, which would expand his fan base even more. June of 2010. (G.R.I.M.M. Rippa) linked up with (Big Boy Entertainment), another independent label, due to the success of the hit-single "Hell Yeah," on the "Fall In or Cave In" mix tape, which he is featured with fellow label mates Ced Deebia$i and GD. 'Hell Yeah,"would go on to be featured on the "Alabama's Most Wanted Mix Tape" along with the likes of Interscope/ Zone 4 recording artist (Rich Boy) and other highly recognizable Hip Hop artists of Alabama. It would also land them an opening spot for EMI/ DP Entertainment recording artist (Trina) in Meridian, Mississippi a month later... With working among two Independent labels, (G.R.I.M.M. Rippa) is continuing non-stop to become one of the most influential artist of his time. Just as he stated in his up-lifting and thought provocative song "I Just Can't Stop," which is featured on his Mix Tape "Levitation." "Ain't no doubt your boy is blessed, made through the growing pains/ I grabbed the world right by the neck, hit whatever ball came/ Never ending ball game, my reign, it has a mass supply/ Skills so live, I need a band and a Mass Choir." With a mixture of up-lifting and powerful, yet street savvy rap skills, (G.R.I.M.M. Rippa) has the determination and the discipline to be one of Hip Hop's most creative forces to grab the microphone.
