About Half Cowboy
Dan and Dave Petersen started singing at age 5 in a children’s group. Their parents instilled in them a love for music in all its forms. They were taught the classic 'western yodel' by their father, Kent. They picked up the guitar at age 16 and began writing songs at age 18. They are continually writing new songs inspired by every day life experiences.
In 1999, they formed the band, 'Humma-Jeeba.' They released a self-titled demo in 2002. Having been separated by 1,000 miles for 3 years, the two collaborated as often as they could, whether by email, webcam, phone, or the occasional 'reunion' visit. Despite the distance they even managed to record the recent self-titled demo 'Half Cowboy.'
Half Cowboy's style is an eclectic mix of alternative, pop rock, western (a la Matchbox 20 meets Hank Williams), with an occasional signature harmony yodel. Their passion for unique music that uplifts, inspires, and simply brings a smile (or a tear) continues to drive their work each day.
