Through the midst of an oversaturated music industry full of synonymous snappers and faux gangsters, emerges hip hop's newest hit duo, Hard County. Hailing from the dregs of Atlanta's Bankhead neighborhood, blood brothers Kravo, 22, and Dooley, 20, are the South's latest sensation, possessing the unique musical qualities so desperately needed by today's youth and music enthusiasts, alike. Although the duo states that their sound cannot be truly defined, or pigeon holed, their music attracts a wide variety of followers, with versatile lyrics covering a range of topics that affects listeners from those who are hurting, currently struggling to make ends meet, to those who are enjoying the finer things in life. The duo's name 'Hard County' isn't just some catchy title; it represents the many obstacles and tribulations constantly faced coming up on Atlanta's west side. "The name Hard County just describes our surroundings growing up, simple as that. It was tough; real ugly on Baker Road," explains Dooley. Music from internationally known artists such as Outkast and Young Jeezy to local phenoms including Young Ralph and the Stack Boys served as songs from the perfect score of their troubled childhood. This type of gritty living looked like it would finally end the high expectations of the group, as older brother Kravo was shot in the leg in February 2008...but the group's luck would soon change. Dooley would have a chance meeting with two-time grammy nominated producer D. Smith (Lil Wayne's 'Shoot Me Down'), who had recently relocated to Atlanta from Brooklyn. After inviting the duo to his studio, and witnessing their exceptional talents, the producer took the group under his wing, actively working with them on their debut album under his ChampCamp imprint. Although the brothers are now taking their music mainstream, they have honed their rap skills for over 10 years, building a substantial following around the Atlanta area, most recently With their current certified street banger, "Front of the Stow." Kravo states, "The reaction we've received has been amazing, real talk. The situation we have with D. Smith allows us to make the music we want to make, which will reach the people we want it to reach...everybody." The duo's mixtape is set to drop soon. Through hard work and remaining true to their craft, the brothers wish to obtain legendary status, while leaving a lasting impression on their fan base. The way things are turning out so far, it's safe to say that their goal will be reached...
