He has appeared in the movies; "Street Smart, Best Seller, and 10,000 BC." Irie has also appeared in a Levi-501 Jeans commercial Irie later became frontman for 2 popular boy bands in the 90's that had marginal successes. He eventually went solo and scored a BillBoard Top 100 single entitled, "Make It Right." Irie was signed by Hi-Class Records as an artist/songwriter and penned songs for the labels artists. One such song was used by Notorious B.I.G on his first album "Ready to Die." The sample used was for a song called, "Things Gone Changed." By the late 90's Irie once again became a frontman for a Washington DC based punk/ska band called "The Sidewinders SC" that scored a hit single on the Billboard Pop Charts entitled "In My Arms." The success of the single put the Sidewinders on tour with such notables band as "No Doubt, Fishbone, The Skatellites, Reel Big Fish and The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones" to name a few. During this period Irie also continued to sharpen his writing skills by performing on and co-producing a rap single for "Pudgee" on Perspective Records entitled, "Money Don't Make Your World Stop."
