James Alexander is a native of New Jersey and began singing in New Hope Baptist Church at the age of 5. His first performance in front of "regular people" (people not from his church) was in 6th grade where he won the solo spot in the fall concert at Toms River Elementary School. LEVY & FRIENDS directed by Gregory Hines, THE MUSIC MAN, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED...FORUM starring Eddie Mekka, BUBBLIN BROWN SUGAR directed by George Faison and A BRIEF HISTORY OF WHITE MUSIC (orig.cast) directed and choreographed by Ken Roberson to name a few.
