James Norris is a Southern Rockin Country singer and songwriter from North East Texas, He was born in Corsicana in 1983. In 1986, After removed from the home of his birth parents, he was adopted by the Late Donald Ray Norris and Evelyn Maxine Norris where he resided with them in Rockwall, Texas. They attended the Calvary Apostolic Church in Rowlett, Texas where he first started singing. Music was always an inspiration in the Norris home. At age 9, they moved to Royce City, Texas and 2 years later in 1994 they moved to Savannah, Tennessee. He was 11 years old when he first started writing music. At that time James just wrote gospel. James enjoyed singing with his grandfather, Henry James Simmons and in 1998 when Mr. Simmons passed away He took a new direction in music. James always had his heart on Country music, and age 16 he wrote his first country song(Playing Games). From that day on he knew what he was born to do and that was to write and sing country music. Over the next several years James would write and sing every time he got a chance. In 2000 James made a big step in his life and married a girl he had been seeing for only a short while. By early 2001 his marriage failed and he was distraught but it was only a short time before he picked up where he left off in music. And in 2003 he married again which turned out to be another dead end road. Marital problems set in and by July of 2005 he was divorced again. Not looking for any body else at that time James was just trying to get something done musically, at the same time he was dealing with his father dying with cancer, Knowing his father would not be around to see him make something of his self he put his music on hold to spend the last few months with his dad. And on October 5, 2005 Mr. Norris passed away. At this time James had met another young lady who was more than happy he was a singer, she would sit and listen to him every time he sang. And on February 4, 2006 he married once again and later that year they had a son together. This time it seemed like the right one. So they as a family decided to move to Nashville in search of his dream. He played any where and every where they would let him. After becoming a writer for BMI he started meeting more people in the industry and was directed to move back to Texas to build a fan club and support team. So in June of 2008 He moved to Texas. After 5 months of being there he was no closer than when he moved. It was hard to find a band in the same area or that was willing to travel to where he was. And in August they had yet another addition to the family, a little baby girl and in November of that year they moved back to Savannah, Tennessee. It was then James started pushing his music like never before and he would sing any place he could get into to. He is currently working with a record label to further his music career.
