At its most powerful, music breaks down barriers, uniting people of all backgrounds who may seem to have little or nothing in common. Music has intrigued and inspired musicians for years. Thus said, this may also be the case with Jebb Mac and his love for music. Hailing from the small town of Mullins, SC, Jebb McMillan, (Mac) fell in love with music at a very young age. At age nine, he began writing poems that were soon converted into songs. "I started off only listening to Hip-Hop, from rappers like LL (Cool J) to 2Pac. As I grew a bit older, I got a little more into bands like Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers." Mac, the singer/songwriter, is also one of eight members of Justin Smith & the Folk Hop Band, a dynamic band based out of Columbia, SC. He has performed with the band in numerous gigs across the state, as well as opened up for some big time names such as: Snoop Dogg, Rehab, Nappy Roots, Collective Soul and Everlast. On stage, Mac pours out enough energy to keep the fans on the edge of their seats, or better yet, their hands to the skies. On the verge of completing his sophmore album, "Alcohol & Agony", Mac blends genres of hip-hop, funk, country and rock. To him, music provides an inspiration to express himself in a way that words alone would do no justice.
