Jerome Rowe was born in Wilson, North Carolina on September 4, 1982. Growing up, Jerome always had a love for music and art. He was influenced by groups like Boyz 2 Men, Jodeci, Blackstreet, The Temptations, and The Jackson 5. As a result, Jerome wanted to be part of an R&B group. However, his father was always moving the family around so Jerome wasn't able to keep a group together. He began focusing on his abilities as a solo artist. It wasn't until his parents divorced that Jerome and his sister moved back to Wilson with their mother to finish high school. There Jerome started developing his voice. At this time Jerome also started writing lyrics as well as singing. After graduating, Jerome along with his mother and sister moved to Myrtle Beach. But Jerome realized that Myrtle Beach was the wrong place to be if he wanted a career in music. He drove five hours to Atlanta to audition for season 3 of American Idol. Although he didn't make it to the show, Jerome continued to write, sing, and audition. He sang in the church music group and later, auditioned again for another season of American Idol. Still not making progess, Jerome met a local producer and began working on a demo to shop to record labels. Jerome also credits his love for writing to a passion for poetry and spoken word.
