Jerraine Record was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. She attended Emerson Visual and Performing Arts High School and graduated in 1990. She majored in music (minor: violin). She taught piano to school students. Jerraine also attended Ivy Tech College in Gary, Indiana and studied Administrative Office Technology. She received her Associate Degree in August 1993. Jerraine has always dreamed of a career as a vocalist in the music industry. As a child, she recalls singing songs while her mother, Jolyn Osborne, played them on the piano. She also performed in local talent shows in the Gary community. At age 10, Jerraine was able to play the piano. She attributes her abilities as a pianist to her mother who was her piano teacher. Besides singing and playing the piano, Jerraine has another unique hobby of songwriting that surfaced with the relationship of her husband, Brian Record, son of the Late Great Eugene Record of the Famous Chi-Lites (Have You Seen Her, Oh Girl). She is currently writing and producing acts such as Cleo Record, Voices, Ron Prince (former member of The Kinsey Report), Ricky Redd Maxwell (Ivory Tower), Charlie Boy Jackson of Ivory Tower, A.K.A. The Lost Generation (The Sly Slick & The Wicked, Mellow Mellow Right On and Thinkin’ Bout Cha). Laurel Simmons, founder of The Lost Generation, who is also credited with the soundtrack, Three The Hard Way, starring Jim Brown, Fred Williamson & Jim Kelly says he hasn’t heard a writer like Jerraine come around in decades. Marshall Thompson of The Chi-Lites says that Jerraine has a new fresh sound and is considering recording one of her works. Jerraine is currently in the studio completing Charlie Boy Jackson’s CD entitled From My Heart which will be released this summer. This album consists of some of the warmest love ballads done by a male artist. Jerraine Record’s CD will be for sale on February 29, 2008.
