Born Ashleigh Braxton on February 27th, 1990, her career began. At the tender age of 3, Ashleigh was given a microphone for her birthday and that marked the first day of the rest of her life. She, at this tender age started to perform all over the country. She first began with local talent shows, beauty pagaents, and dance competitions. No one knew exactly who this bright young star was, but everyone soon found out. Yes, she was young she began to create a youthful, fun, and strong spark into the R&B, Soul, & Hip-hop community. When Ashleigh turned 8, she began to sing in her church and school choir. This taught her to be a team player, as well as a stronger performer. At A very, very young age, her mother and her picked up their things and moved to Chicago, in the hopes of furthering Ashleigh's career as a musician. Upon moving to Chicago, and starting at a new school, Ashleigh joined her school choir and was granted the opportunity to perform at the Chicago Music Awards, twice, at which she was the soloist both events. Her choir won both times and were granted the opportunity from there to perform at the Indianapolis childrens musuem at which she was the soloist again. Her drive and passion for music after these big events became INSATIABLE. This is where SHE decided that music was her calling and started the process to achieve her dreams. High school, gave her the experience she needed to be a well rounded artist, performing at all her high school events, singing the National Anthem at Basketball/Football games, as well as recording and performing outside of school. At the age of 17, upon her high school graduation, she decided to take her career to the next level. She started vocal lessons, dance training, and artist development. This is when people started to recognize her. In addition to her vocal talents, Ashleigh began to demonstrate her creativeness through her writing skills, by writing her own songs. It has been said that Ashleigh "Brings a sense of reality to her audience, the stage, and the music industry. Something that has never been done the correct way." She accomplishes this in speaking about things that her younger listeners may be going through, but her music, words and experiences are so powerful that even people twice her age can relate to. She is definitely taking the music industry to newer and greater heigihts. With such inspirations as Minnie Rippleton, Alicia Keys, Adele, Whitney Houston, Vivian Green and Heather Headley, she isi truly destined to take the music industry by storm. At the age 19, Ashleigh changes her name to Nevaeh Heart and in doing such she had her identity and started to record her 1st album. completely written by her. One of her songs "Crazy" got major recgonition. Because of this single she was granted the opportunity to shoot her first music video to it and open up for R&B Recording Artist Omarion and The Party Boyz. She was also dubbed the "Princess of power 92" because of her consistency at the radio station (being there 16 weeks straight with that single as well as 2 others). This started the cycle of everyone knowing who this petite young lady with the big voice was.Currently being compared to greats such as the late Aaliyah, Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Ciara, she is definitely a force to be reckoned with! Don’t be fooled by her cute smile, and petite frame, this well-rounded young lady definitely lets everyone know that she is very determined/hardworking and her name is definitely one that will be in everyone's head! She is currently working on songs where she really gets to showcase her talents, where she can play the piano, the violin, the guitar, and the drums! She has undergone a New and final name change, now going by the name "Jhersi" (a unique spelling and pay of respects to her hometown) she is in the process of finishing a completely original mixtape and then working on her album. Aside form performing, working out, writing, producing, and being a well rounded, hard working artist, Jhersi is awaiting her time to take the industry over. Jhersi is the epitome of what a true star is! This is only the beginning of this young adults’ career. At the age of 21, Jhersi's combination of talents will leave an impression on anyone. Stirring up an everlasting presence, with a unique “swaga’” that will reverberate for years. Jhersi will arouse the sentimental feeling back into music that we’ve all missed.
