I was born Jovan Smallsaka (Joeynoparoley) on November 25, 1984 in Brooklyn NY at Saint John's Hospital by Gail Williamson and Leonard Smalls. I was raised in one of the toughest parts in Brooklyn - Fort Green Projects, also known as The Ingersoll Houses. During my years growing up I went through some tough times after my father Leonard Smalls left my mother Gail Williamson. So I was basically raised by my mother. Being that I didn't have a male figure around for the most part of my life it left me no choice but to run the streets with younger and older peers. Mainly older peers because I was always fascinated with fantasy cars and things that the older guys were doing. When I was about 12 years old I took music as a coping skill to basically keep myself out of trouble. It was either play some basketball or rap. I found that I was good when I got my first cassette tapes it was Ol' Dirty Bastard and Wu Tang Clan 36 Chambers, I'll never forget it. I remember walking from the store with my friends and we used to test each other to see if we knew songs word for word and if one of us messed up, then it was the next persons turn. As I grew towards my teenage years rappers like Big Daddy Kane, KRS One, Jay-z, Biggie Smalls , Nas and 2Pac became rappers that I one day wanted to be. What these mc's were saying through their music was some of the things that I was living and growing up around. So I started to write and recite my own rhymes in school by basically crushing rap battles at lunch time during school. During my high school years I started recording over industry beats, that's when I knew I was getting good. I've recorded over 40 to 50 songs, all finished through my junior and senior year in school. When I was 20 years old I lost my mother due to a massive heart attack, and that's when I took my music to another level. The only way I felt that I could make my mother happy was to be successful and not get lost in the streets, ending up a product of my environment. That's how I got the name Joeynoparolee even though I was inclined to the street life I just put all that I was going through into my music to make a positive moves. During my first year of college I won first place in local talent shows, around the New York and Tristate area. I've opened up for various artist like, Freeway, Jim Jones, Trey Songs and basically any college functions that would need any opening acts. My favorite artist to this day would have to be Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Biggie Smalls. My reason for that is basically because they are all driven artists the same way I want to be one day. FYI my music will speak for itself.
