KindA  LoUnge  started as a humorous side project in late 1999. By the members of  the popular 1990’s Orange County, California. Punk Rock band The Teenage Mutants. Ken Kleptwa, Ruthless Rude, and Vandl Ballos. For  the first few years, not much was taking Serious, (I’m not so sure things have changed) Basically KindA just experimenting different chops on their instruments, and finding an excuse to play with drum machines and keyboards on down time. Lyric ideas came from on the spot collaborations and whatever was going on in their environment at that time. It was all very care free hints to the whole KindA LoUnge motto. Early performances consisted of just that. Hanging out, Having fun, Even opening up for themselves and other local groups as ‘A Secret Act’. Playing backyard parties, Crashing local venues and occasionally holding it down in a street corner cypher.  KindA just LoUnging it.   Members have come on gone, KindA shaping the group into the jam band it has been known to be. (at times) The founding and core member is Leadman. Richard Skills, A.K.A. – S.B.D. (make up a quality acronym = making a dollar – serious!) In no particular order, is a list of people who have contributed to the KindA  LoUnge Projects.   Sloppy Joe, Vandl2Buzz, JayByrd, The Millennium Desperados, The Vomit Squadron, Chucks, Puablo Beats, Irish Knuckles, Jessica Faye, Hideous One, Jean Stilwell, D.J. Darkstar/Harvy Dent, Omniom, KODA1, Minnie Skertt, K.F.W., Jesus @ get your rip on studios,  Ivyn Vylent, Red Ape. James Beck, Bill Chitwood, Betty Stilwell, Robin Stilwell   KL recorded some demo songs in 2000, in various places, with a slew of guests. Some surfaced on compilations and short mixed tapes. Some of these songs became and still are the foundation of the live shows.   In late 2002 KL took a 3 year hiatus, when they returned, they released an album that consisted very heavily on samples, almost abandoning all live instruments they were known for using . The album consisted of a strong Wonder Years theme, sampling excerpts from the show itself. The album was dubbed ‘The Cover Years’ and received mixed reactions. This album was made almost completely solo by, Scratch Break Downs.  It is also the first album of the Where’s My Slice Publishing / kleptotik Records imprint. KindA LoUnge is currently booking ALL gigs available, and has been known to show up and Entertain for a bucket of chicken or a pumpkin pie.
