The Beginning: K9 was born in Minnesota's capital city, St. Paul into a family that could easily be labeled as dysfunctional. To get away from the gang activity and dysfunction he moved with his mom and two brothers to Austin Minnesota to get a fresh start. And this is where his troubles began. Beginning with juvenile offenses, he spent most of his young life in and out of foster homes, juvenile detention centers, and the court room beginning at age 4. Slowly progressing he did his first stint in a juvenile lockdown facility at the age of 10 for offenses such as theft, burglary, vandalism, and assaults. Times became so bad that he was certified into the adult court system as an adult due to his extensive record. His first sentence was 90 days for auto theft. The History: He spent a short period of time out of lock up. Due to felony terroristic threats when he was 17 he was placed on probation. He violated his probation by not turning himself in and was sentenced to one year in the county jail. He was released in 2003. He spent another short period of time on the outside, though he had been in and out sitting stints of 30 days at a time until August of 2004. He was then charged with two counts of felony possession of a pistol, drive by shooting, two counts of possession of stolen property, and 2nd degree burglary,2nd degree assault with a deadly weapon and 3rd degree assault substantial bodily harm. He made a plea bargain and copped to one count of felony possession of a pistol and was sentenced to 60 months in a state prison. He sat 40 months in prison and is now on parole for the remaining 20 months. Most of which will be served on house arrest. He was released on December 26th 2007. Behind the music: He began rapping at a young age, freestyling to video game soundtracks. He didn't start recording until 2001 when he wasa member of a group called Lost Soulz. Due to incarceration he was thrown off track. In late 2003 he got back on his game and began recording again with his cousin calling themselves the Midnight Warriors. Once again incarceration became a problem and the grind was abruptly halted. Which brings him to where he is now. The Present: Dedicated and determined to accomplish long awaited dreams and goals and to share his life experiences and knowledge through his music. He records with other artists through e-mail due to his current house arrest status. He believes that with the right team and the right connection and the right amount of push he can beat all the odds against him and rise to the top. He doesn't want to be judged by what he's done but where he's trying to go. Even though he wouldn't change the things he's done in his life, because he belives its what makes him who he is. A strong, powerful, mindful voice waiting to be heard.
