Loretta Callens began her journey through music at 6 years old, performing at her local church and later joining her school's choir. Loretta Callens began her journey through music at 6 years old, performing at her local church and later joining her school's choir. She credits her parents with fostering her love of music and partiality to singing harmony. Loretta performed with folk duet Firelight (1978-1996) and Pine Hill Bluegrass Band (1988-1998.) She presently performs at wineries, pubs, coffee houses, restaurants, benefits, private events, retirement centers and open mics in east Texas and the Dallas area. Loretta continues to expand her music horizon, with two of her original songs featured on radio broadcast. Also the release of her 1st CD titled "STRAYZ" which was reviewed in the October issue of Dallas' Buddy Magazine. Loretta Callens' music embodies a timeless, American country, folk, soft rock and blues genre that appeals to anyone who loves music. Aside from performing Loretta has produced/co-produced several events including 16 bi-annual bluegrass festivals, a folk festival and two fund raisers. Co-produced along with Lisa Byrn The Texas Independent Music Expo 2009 in Dallas TX. Recent venues include: KE Cellars, The Purple Pig Cafe 2, Bergfeld Park Summer Music Series 2009 as backup vocals for a local band, retirement facilities and churches all in the Tyler area. O'Dells and The Back Porch Restaurant both in Winona. Opening act at Pickin' in the Pines 2009 in Pine Mills. Mojoes in Henderson. Balcony Club, Sons Of Hermann Hall, St. Pete's Dancing Marlin, Dunn Brother's Coffee, Opening Bell Coffee, Six Strings & Coffee Beans, Half Price Books & Music, Bill's Records, WoofStock and several other events in the Dallas area. Opened for Maren Morris at Texas Independent Music Expo 2009 Dallas. One of three featured artisits at the North Texas Women's Music Revue in Denton. Gallery of the Arts in Willspoint. The Library Pub at The Residence Inn in Grapevine. Opened for Bob Livingston of the Lost Gonzo Band at The Texas Music Theater in Waxahachie. Also performed at numerous private gatherings and weddings over the years.
