The band started at the El Caballero apt. with only two members and Casio on beats. The name was chosen from Alice Sebold’s best selling novel The Lovely Bones, which had an inspiring affect on Mando. Later, lovelybones realized that they would need at least one more member to complete the band. The great Oscar, another previous member from Graveyard Romance, was brought in to play guitar. (You didnt mention your cholo prog rock drummer friend and Laura on keys and Juan oh yeah that never happened.) After many trials with different drummers, Fido and Willie, lovelybones decided that bringing back Casio and Yamaha would be their best bet to making the style of music they were aiming for, whatever that may be! The band moved to Dozier, where beckybothers had an extra room which was turned into rehearsal space. And the lovelybones you hear and love today was born
