Major League is a five piece pop-punk band formed in 2009, with members hailing from the tri-state area.  The band spent a few months writing, before heading into the studio to record their first single, “Hometown Heroes”. Over the next few months, the band recorded several demos that have since been released as "Major League: Song Sampler", via iTunes. In August of 2009, “Hometown Heroes” was selected by Fox News and the Philadelphia Phillies to be the promo song for their playoff and World Series coverage. The band was also given the opportunity perform the song on NBC's The 10! Show as well as Good Morning Philadelphia. Post-season coverage still features the song. Major League booked a series of weekend tours and spent 3 weeks supporting Jackson, MS band At Cliffs End, before heading back in the studio to record their debut EP “The Truth Is…”. The record was released in November 2011 and was followed by a two-week acoustic tour and a music video release for the song “From States Away”.  The band filled the coming months with a New England tour with A Face For Radio and writing the songs that would become their second EP, “Variables”. After the record’s release on March 18th, the band set out for a 6-week tour to the Midwest, supporting the likes of Handguns, Hawthorne Heights and The Wonder Years. In May, the band and original drummer Justin Unruh parted ways, and Luke Smartnick, formerly of the Pittsburgh, PA area band Chances Are High, took over on drums. With their new drummer, the band embarked on their first full US tour and played shows with Broadside, Giants at Large, So Many Ways, Forever Came Calling, and more. In June, the band began working with Japanese label Ice Grill$ on their first international release, “Major League: Mixtape” , comprised of “The Truth Is…” and “Variables”, plus an additional bonus track, “Some Kids Just Can’t Hang”. The album was released on September 7th and a music video for the bonus track was released on October 10th. In December, the band made the trip to Japan in support of the record, playing 8 shows throughout the country. Upon their return, Major League played “A Very GK Holiday Fest”, alongside such acts as A Loss For Words, Fireworks, We Are The In Crowd, and The Wonder Years.
